Croatia receives electricity from the Krško nuclear power plant, which is located in Slovenia and jointly managed by both countries under an intergovernmental treaty. Around a third of available energy is produced domestically. Croatia exported almost 3.8 Mtoe in 2023, mostly oil and petroleum products, gas and electricity.
